Firms operating in both blue and red states (read: most of the Fortune 500) will struggle to adopt cohesive nationwide strategies that satisfy Democrats and Republicans alike.

Eurasia Group's 2024 Top Risks Report

In this highly polarized environment, The Flip Side is one of the few organizations trusted by both sides. Our 200,000+ newsletter subscribers hail from all 50 states and span the political spectrum. They include teachers and professors from dozens of schools and universities, civic group leaders and thousands of their members, and a Congressman and multiple state officials.

We’ve spent the past year researching and speaking with engineers, designers, academics, and community moderators about how best to design an online community where meaningful discussions can take place. Our newly launched discussion platform uses human-centered design and a proprietary ranking algorithm to reward thoughtfulness and bipartisanship, rather than trolling or clickbait.

This is a pivotal moment in the market and larger zeitgeist, as millennials and gen Z are ready to move beyond the big platforms. Just as there are libraries, coffee shops, concert halls, bars, and restaurants in the ‘real world’, there are now different digital venues for different social groups and different types of interactions. The Flip Side will be the premiere platform for political discussions.

We’re leveraging the latest technology to design a pro-social, pro-democracy platform. The last time there was a major technological shift, civic society allowed Silicon Valley to dictate how we consume news; let's make sure we do better this time around. Here’s our roadmap for 2024.

We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely.
